No complicated setup. No account. Just you and how far you’ve come.
Enter your sobriety date and, if you like, the time. Every journey has a beginning.
See your sober days, years, months, hours and minutes. Your counter keeps ticking.
Look ahead to your next milestone. Save your progress or share a moment you’re proud of.
A sober day counter makes the time since your chosen starting point easier to see. It can help you mark a personal commitment, prepare for an anniversary, or simply pause and notice the effort you have put in. There is no score to compare with someone else. A single day and a long anniversary both belong to a real person with their own story.
Use this sobriety date calculator for yourself or to check a date for someone you support. You do not need to give a name, create a profile, or tell us why you are counting. If you are helping a sponsee or a friend, ask how they prefer to mark their time before sharing a result. Their date and their story are theirs to share.
Select the date you recognize as the beginning of your current streak. If you remember the time, enter it too. Otherwise, midnight on the selected date is the starting point. You can return and change this whenever you need to. The calculator waits for you to choose a date, rather than assuming a history for you.
The large number shows complete sober days. The smaller tiles show calendar years, remaining calendar months, complete weeks and total hours. The live line includes hours, minutes and seconds within the current 24-hour period. These are different ways to look at the same journey; the calendar values should not be added to the total day count. A week is seven complete days, and the weeks tile shows your completed weeks.
Months vary in length, and leap years include an extra day. Calendar anniversaries follow the actual calendar rather than treating every month as 30 days. If the starting day does not exist in an anniversary month, the last day of that month is used. This keeps a January 31 start meaningful when February arrives.
The tool interprets the selected date and time in your device’s local time zone. Total days are complete 24-hour periods. A daylight-saving change can make a local calendar day shorter or longer, so the completed-day count may differ from simply counting the dates on a wall calendar. A shared date is also interpreted locally by the person opening the link.
There is no required schedule for celebrating. Some people pause at 24 hours, a week, or their first month. Others look forward to 60 or 90 days, six months, or an annual anniversary. The timeline above shows reached and upcoming milestones so you can look ahead without having to count manually.
A milestone can be a quiet moment, a journal entry, or a conversation with someone you trust. It does not need a public announcement or a purchase. Your own traditions can change as time passes. This tool helps with the arithmetic; you decide what the date means and how you want to recognize it.
If you want another perspective, enter an estimate of what you used to spend each day. The money saved estimate multiplies that amount by complete sober days. It is a simple comparison, not an account balance or a promise of savings. Your actual spending and circumstances can vary over time.
You can also enter the minutes you typically spent each day and see an estimate of hours reclaimed. Consider these numbers a starting point for reflection. There is no need to turn every reclaimed hour into something productive. Rest, ordinary routines, and time with people you care about can matter just as much.
The browser calculator works on your device. Your selected date is remembered in localStorage where browser settings allow it. There is no calculator account, and we do not receive your input. Clearing your browser’s site storage removes the remembered date. Private browsing may forget it when the session closes.
Downloading a progress card creates a PNG on your device. Copying a link puts your chosen date and time into the URL, so only share that link when you are comfortable with others seeing it. If you want check-ins, a journal, a growing planet, or a breathing exercise alongside your count, explore the Android companion app. Its free version includes ads and optional premium removes them; see the privacy policy for third-party details.
You don’t have to see the whole path.
Just take it one day at a time.

Formula: full days = floor((current time − start time) ÷ 86,400,000 milliseconds). Calendar months and years use anniversaries, rather than fixed day counts.
Worked example: 47 complete days = 6 weeks and 5 days. At 10 currency units per day, estimated savings are 47 × 10 = 470.
